GSA e-Buy
e-Buy, an on-line request for quote tool within GSA Advantage! streamlines the
buying process with point-and-click functionality by allowing RFQs and quotes to be
exchanged electronically between government buyers and Schedule contractors - saving time & money.
e-Buy, allows government buyers to use the Internet to obtain quotes which will result in a
best value purchase decision. e-Buy gives Schedule contractors more opportunities to offer
quotes to agencies thought to be marginal opportunities.
Buyers prepare and post a Schedule/Special Item Number (SIN) RFQ for specific
services and products for a designated period of time. The category assignment
determines which sellers may receive the e-mail notice to quote.
Buyers may notify all sellers listed under a particular SIN category or they
may choose to notify a lesser number of sellers. Sellers not notified may still
submit a quote for an RFQ placed under their awarded SIN. Check the e-Buy site
frequently for RFQ opportunities since e-mail notification is not guaranteed.
Only those contractors who have submitted their catalogs for inclusion in
GSA Advantage! will have an opportunity to participate in e-Buy and receive
requests for quotes.
